The 3^rd ASEAN Digital Senior Officials’ + India (ADGSOM+India) Meeting

    The 3^rd ASEAN Digital Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADGSOM) and related meetings took place in Malay, Philippines from 06 to 08 February, 2023.

2.The 3^rd ASEAN Digital Senior Officials’ + India (3^rdADGSOM+India) Meeting was held on 08 February, 2023. Mr. Premjit Lal, Dy Director General (International Relations) Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications represented Govt. of India in the meeting. Mr. Trivedi BhaveshRajnikant, Director (IR-1), Department of Telecommunications also participated in the meeting. Ambassador of India to ASEAN participated the meeting from Jakarta in virtual mode.

3.At the outset, DDG-IR delivered his opening remarks. Subsequently, meeting adopted its agenda and ASEAN Secretariat briefed the meeting regarding outcomes of the 2^ndADGSOM+India and 2^ndADGMIN+India meetings, held in 2022.

4.India shared the status of the completed and ongoing projects of ASEAN-India Digital Workplan 2022. ASEAN-India Digital Work Plan 2023 was also ensorsed in the meeting.

5.The Meeting appreciated India for conducting training courses and seminars on knowledge sharing and capacity building in ICT field. Commissioning of Centres of Excellence in Software Development and Training (CESDT) in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and progress being made in Viet Nam was also appreciated, stating these activities as priority areas as per the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025 (ADM2025).

6.Subsequently, the meeting endorsed the ‘Agenda’ and the ‘Joint Media Statement’ for the ADGMIN+India meeting to be held on 10 February, 2023.

7.It was agreed that Singapore will host the 4^th ADGSOM and 4^th ADGMIN and related meetings in January/ February, 2024 (dates to be intimated later).

8.Report of the 3^rdADGSOM+India meeting was adopted on ad-referendum basis.
